Free Banking is a proposition that offers free banking services to customers. Customers can enjoy freedom from bank charges such as SMS & transfer charges, account maintenance fees (AMF), debit card issuance fees, card maintenance fees etc.
How can I subscribe to a free banking path?
You can subscribe to a free banking path through any of these channels:
- Self-Service: You can log on to the Free Banking module on e-channels (Mobile, Online, Website) to select a path.
- Contact Centre: You can call Contact Centre to speak with an agent.
- Branch Visit: You can visit any Union Bank branch
If I have a Union Bank current account, do I need to open a new one to subscribe to the Deposit path?
No. You can use your existing current account to subscribe to the deposit path. If you do not have a current account. Click here to open one.
What happens if I do not meet the required conditions in a month?
Your account will not be refunded for the charges incurred in the previous month and your accrued interest* will be forfeited.
*Accrued interest applies to deposit path subscribers only
How can I cancel subscription to any of the Free Banking paths?
You can opt out of your subscription through our self-service channels (UnionMobile or UnionOnline), our contact centre, or by visiting any Union Bank branch close to you.

No. A valid email address is compulsory for subscription.

At the beginning of a new month, all charges relevant to your subscription incurred in the previous month will be refunded to your account alongside your

What time of the month can I join a Path to Freedom?
You can join any of the four paths at any time. However, if you come on board from the 1st – 15th day of the month you will enjoy freebies in the same month and if you come on board from the 16th you will enjoy freebies from the next month (provided all conditions are met)
Can I switch paths whenever I want?
Yes, you can. There are different paths to freedom and we encourage you to explore and find the right fit for you.
You can only subscribe to one path at a time. Please opt out of your previous path before subscribing to a new path.
